What do yurts, red & green chili, local vendors, the SLV Foods Coalition, live music, a master chef, potato sheds, 3-D printed adobe houses and an old drive-in theater all have in common? The Dish SLV is a community group in the San Luis Valley based in Center Colorado creating connection through food events. The Dish SLV is hosting a free valley preview at the Frontier Drive-Inn Theater, rescheduled for July 9th, 2022. There will be food, games, activities, a red & green chili dish cook off with prizes, live music, local vendors, a movie and so much more.
UPDATE From The Dish SLV (6/21/2022): We are very sorry to have to postpone this event due to weather and COVID issues with some of our primary organizers and vendors. We really apologize for the inconvenience but the predicted weather would have limited or completely prevented our music, family games and activities, film, and more. Also, with the current situation surrounding COVID in the Valley, we did not want to host an event that pushes people together inside or in a tent.
This event will now take place on Saturday, July 9th. Please let everyone know of this change
Bring the whole family for games and food, and don’t forget your dancing shoes for live music by Los Shadows, on tour from Los Angeles and a very special surprise guest. In the evening pull out your lawn chair or hang out on some hay for a movie selected with input from Center High students. This will be the first public screening of a film on the Frontier’s big screen in nearly 40 years! All the fun begins at the Frontier Drive-Inn.

MORE ABOUT THE DISH COOK-OFF
1st and 2nd Place will be chosen by a panel of expert judges from both the San Luis Valley and beyond. There will also be a People’s Choice award where attendees who are able to taste food (while it lasts!) can weigh in on their favorite dish. The registration form is here.
