Golf in the San Luis Valley

The San Luis Valley is fortunate to have three different and unique places to golf. Each has it's own special features and amenities. Young or old, experienced or just beginning, these courses have what you need. Featured in this joint venture podcast are Nick Owen (Rio Grande Club & Resort), Ingrid Watson (Monte Vista Golf Club) and Jon Atencio (Cattails Golf Course). They discuss their courses, what they offer, what they bring to each local community and what it's like to golf at altitude in this special area.



Cattails Golf Course (Alamosa):

Cattails Golf Course is dedicated to serving our customers by providing a high quality golfing experience to players of all ages and abilities and enhancing their enjoyment of the game of golf. Cattails is the place when looking for a relaxed round of golf. Cattails is a cotton wood tree lined course with wet lands through out. The course sits just north of the famous Rio Grande River and has 360 degree views of all the mountains. Cattails Golf Course is a Championship length 18 hole golf course. Our Club House is “Brand New”. The views are spectacular with wild life everywhere. The golf course is owned by the City of Alamosa.


Monte Vista Golf Club:

Come and experience all the tradition, history, and prestige found on one of Colorado’s first 15 golf courses. Making tee times since 1982! Located in the city of Monte Vista Colorado we offer 9 regulation holes for play as well as cart rentals and a club house. Outside of golf we host a number or local functions throughout the year. Rio Grande Club & Resort (South Fork):

Located adjacent to the Rio Grande National Forest and nestled in South Fork, Colorado near Wolf Creek Ski area in Southern Colorado, the Rio Grande Club & Resort is a semi-private club with golf play and two restaurants open to the public offering amenities and facilities available through three membership plans. This 18 hole award-winning golf course offers 9 holes that meander alongside the Rio Grande River and 9 holes with glorious alpine terrain and spectacular mountain views.

    35:30 he says that most courses allow music?! If that were true I would literally quit golf.
