The 26th Annual Fall Festival & Quilt Show is Saturday, September 21st in Otto Mears Park. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, browse lots of vendor booths from all over the San Luis Valley while enjoying local music from various groups. View handmade quits lovingly made by the Saguache Sagebrush Quilters. Make a bid on Silent Auction items, to help the Saguache Chamber of Commerce in their only annual fundraiser. In life, things happen beyond our control. Those things can range from minor disruptions to major emergencies or temporary disasters such as flooding, overwhelming snow fall, and wildfires just to name a few. Those involved, both victim and volunteer, need to know how to respond and who to contact in order to offer their time, effort, and skills in the most effective manner. But wanting to help is just the first step. We need to know how to prepare as well as volunteer in different capacities when help is most needed and how the organization of that assistance can be done in the most efficient way to meet whatever the needs may be at the time. Learn how we can all be prepared, not scared.

THE place to be over Labor Day Weekend is Creede, Colorado. Activities planned for this 3-day weekend include a Salsa Fiesta, a Balloon Festival, the Creede Mountain Run, plays and comedy at the Creede Repertory Theater, a bounce house and games for kids, great shopping, an outdoor movie, Live music including Maggie Rains & Crooked Keys and epic views.
